DESIGN BRIEF
Caulfield Endoscopy is a specialist gastroenterology consultancy operating at Glen Eira Day Surgery that required a logo and website refresh to simplify the patient and doctor experience online.
Owners of the clinic were adamant to keep the website simple so that appointment bookings were made via telephone. Accordingly, this eliminates the complications that come from patient-directed online bookings. Information, downloadable factsheets and procedure preparation checklists were now returning to a handout from receptionist to patient at check-in.
The logo and visual identity were tweaked to brighten up the original blues and give them a freshness they didn’t have previously. When these blues are paired with lighter tints and the crisp white background as used on the website, they have a vibrancy that makes the logo and visual identity pop.
I designed the logo to give an impression of the gastrointestinal tract. Thankfully, it also carries the C and E, though the E is in reverse. I didn’t intend for the logo to have an obvious monogram but alluding to a GI tract is fitting and identifiable. Subsequently, the rounded graphic lines in the logo are then adapted and carried through the visual identity and applied to the website backgrounds.
The website is really simple and clean. It’s easy to navigate, the text size is appropriate for older audiences and the font choice is clear and legible.
Overall, the logo and website provide a no-fuss but sophisticated approach for a very busy and efficient consultancy, where simplicity matters most.
